How do I ask for an appointment?
You’ve got a prospective client you are trying to get an appointment with. Try these:
Would you mind if we met for 30 minutes to discuss the potential impact to your family and other financial goals and dreams if you are not able to work for an extended period of time, let’s say 90 days or more?
- You have short and long term disability provided by your employer, outstanding, do you happen to know what percentage of your income it replaces and if there is a maximum amount that may be paid to you?
- During our brief meeting, would you mind bringing your employee benefit book so that we can review the generous benefit provided by your employer?
What I do as a financial professional is to create peace of mind for my clients, that regardless of the financial circumstances they or their family face, an income will be available. Would you be available to meet for 30 minutes to determine if my expertise may be of interest to you and your family?
If you were not able to work for an extended period of time, let’s say, more than 90 days, tell me the impact that may have on your family, the ability to pay your mortgage, car, health insurance, etc? May we meet for 30 minutes to review your current plan to protect your income?
What do you believe is the most important asset to achieving your financial goals, dreams and independence? Your income…great answer, that assumes that you will always be able to work, correct? What happens if you are not able to work due to an accident or illness? May we meet for 30 minutes to discuss the risk you and your family may be exposed too?
What are your financial priorities? You pay a premium to protect your home, your cars and other material assets, how do you protect the most valuable asset you have, the ability to create an income? May we meet for 30 minutes to review your current risk protection plans?
Do you believe that it’s important to own health insurance…yes it’s important to be able to pay the people who are providing you care. The importance of owning disability insurance protection is equally important, because it pays you, if you are not able to work due to accident or illness.
Were you aware that protecting a part of your income may cost as little as a cup of coffee each day? May we meet for 30 minutes to review your income protection planning strategy?
